About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Remote Payment Posting Representative. The role accurately records and reconciles incoming electronic and manual payments from patients, insurance companies, and other third-party payers. It requires attention to detail, financial acumen, and an understanding of healthcare billing and reimbursement processes.

Requirements

Familiarity with medical office procedures and billing practices.
Knowledge of the accounts receivable (A/R) process.
At least 1 year of experience in revenue cycle management.
At least 1 year of healthcare or insurance billing processing experience.
At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPC codes, CCI edits, and HIPAA regulations.
High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Post payments daily as assigned.
Receive and review incoming checks, electronic funds transfers, credit card payments, and electronic remittance advice (ERA) files from insurance companies.
Verify payment amounts, patient information, and insurance details for accuracy.
Identify discrepancies or payment errors and escalate them to appropriate staff members.
Apply adjustments to patient accounts, including deductibles, co-payments, and contractual adjustments, as needed.
Route denied claims to the appropriate work queues in the EMR system.
Generate and reconcile daily batch reports on posting activities.
Reconcile received payments against EMR batches to validate posting amounts.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues affecting cash posting processes.
