About The Position

Accurately and efficiently transports patients, wheelchairs, and stretchers to and from nursing units and ancillary departments. Uses transport equipment correctly, cleans transportation equipment, and participates in transportation equipment maintenance. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission and vision of Spartanburg Medical Center.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification; training and certification are provided on the job.
• Ability to stand, walk, and/or bend for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
• Ability to discharge and transfer patients, push wheelchairs and stretchers, and manipulate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients within the hospitals.
• Properly sanitize all transport equipment.
• Move within assigned areas and throughout the Medical Center as necessary.
• Discharge and transfer patients and push wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Manipulate equipment.
• Use transport equipment correctly, clean transportation equipment, and participate in its maintenance.
