About The Position

The Medical Imaging Patient Transporter works under the direct supervision of the Imaging Technologist to coordinate and provide patient transport. The role transports patients by cart or wheelchair between the Emergency Department, Medical Surgical Unit, and other hospital locations using appropriate lifting and transfer techniques. It also supports imaging operations by cleaning equipment and exam rooms, changing linens, restocking supplies, and assisting the technologist as needed. This is a PRN position, as needed for coverage.

Requirements

Current BLS certification.
Excellent and professional communication skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Ability to stoop, lift, stand, and walk without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient transport under the direct supervision of the Imaging Technologist.
Transport patients by cart or wheelchair to and from the Emergency Department, Medical Surgical Unit, and other hospital locations using appropriate transfer techniques.
Verify patient identity before transport.
Clean carts and wheelchairs after each use.
Clean the imaging exam room, change linens after each patient, and restock as needed.
Assist the technologist in the exam suite as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Use proper lifting and transfer techniques and knowledge of wheelchairs, stretchers, and assisted walking.
Follow infection control practices when cleaning patient-transport equipment.
Maintain patient confidentiality and apply patient identification requirements and safety standards.
