About The Position

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is recruiting a PRN Patient Transporter to greet and transport patients to and from major ancillary departments using appropriate safety techniques and transportation methods. The role also supports clinical personnel with patient transfers, assists customers throughout the hospital, and delivers specimens, orders, requisitions, and equipment to their destinations.

Requirements

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.

At least one year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary, and support areas as requested.
Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
Greet and assist customers throughout the hospital.
Collect and deliver specimens, orders, requisitions, and equipment to appropriate destinations.
