About The Position

A Patient Transporter plays a crucial role in ensuring patient mobility within a healthcare facility. This position safely transports patients to various locations, assists with mobility needs, and operates transport equipment with precision and care. The role is scheduled for 24 hours per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every other weekend, at Grand Central WB. Minimum hiring wage is $18.89 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification from the American Heart Association within 180 days.
• Skills in patient transport, mobility assistance, healthcare communication, equipment handling, time management, attention to detail, safety practices, log maintenance, patient care, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely and efficiently to various locations within the facility.
• Assist patients with mobility needs, ensuring comfort and safety during transport.
• Operate transport equipment with precision and care, maintaining its hygiene and functionality.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff to ensure smooth and timely patient movement.
• Maintain accurate transport logs and promptly report issues or delays.
• Assist with transferring patients to beds, wheelchairs, or medical equipment as required.
