About The Position

The Patient Transporter moves patients and equipment to and from departments throughout the Medical Center and performs other patient-related activities as assigned. The role requires transporting patients safely and using proper body mechanics. The transporter maintains PAR levels for equipment in locations throughout the Medical Center and works collaboratively with coworkers in Patient Transportation and other departments. Epic software is used to track patients’ locations during transport and equipment movement throughout the facility.

This is a PRN position with varying, rotating shifts at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Requirements

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification, including CPR and AED.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of customer service experience.
