Patient Transport Aide
About The Position
The Patient Transport Aide responds to patient transport requests with a sense of urgency. The role ensures oxygen tanks have sufficient oxygen for the entire transport and supports patient comfort throughout the request by being attentive, offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging only in appropriate conversation involving the patient. The position is with Backus Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare. The posting describes the hospital as a primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut, with the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties and the area's only LIFE STAR helicopter services.
