About The Position

The Patient Services Supervisor assists with the successful operation and customer service of the Food & Nutrition Services Department. This entry-level management role focuses primarily on patient meal assembly and delivery, while supporting quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and other facility-related activities. The supervisor works with patients and nursing staff to ensure meal selections, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval meet expectations. The position is based in Bel Air, Maryland.

Requirements

Two years of food service experience.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
Some knowledge of food trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with management, clients, customers, and associates.
Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as internet use.

Responsibilities

Help ensure patient and client satisfaction by meeting or exceeding expectations.
Offer menu alternatives permitted by prescribed diets, taking food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences into account.
Interact with nursing staff and evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, tray delivery, and tray retrieval processes daily.
Resolve patient concerns or complaints promptly and report concerns to a supervisor when appropriate.
Assist with food service activities, with primary involvement in patient meal assembly and delivery.
Support quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and facility-related activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
