The specialist also performs receptionist duties, manages physician schedules, assists with billing and financial tasks, and orders office supplies. Additionally, they coordinate laundry services, ensure departmental downtime procedures are followed, and secure the department at the end of the day. Minor clinical duties include preparing exam rooms, assisting with patient transfers, and restocking dressing rooms. The role also emphasizes organizational obligations such as attendance, patient satisfaction, confidentiality, adherence to hospital policies (including HIPAA, safety, and disaster plans), professional conduct, and maintaining a positive image of the hospital.
