Patient Services Specialist - Sleep Laboratory
About The Position
Under the direction of the PAS manager, the Patient Services Specialist assists patients during on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits and completes financial clearance functions. For unscheduled visits, the specialist collects accurate demographic and insurance information and collects patient liability, if known, at the time of service. During registration downtimes, the specialist completes financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts. The role also includes miscellaneous client service activities, such as collecting valuables and providing basic customer service. The specialist greets and serves patients professionally, warmly, and respectfully to promote positive encounters. The position is with Providence at Covenant Children's Hosp (Methodist Children's Hosp), where caregivers support patient-focused, whole-person care built on understanding, commitment, and mutual respect.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of healthcare experience in a business office, hospital, or medical office setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits.

- Collect patient liability at the time of service when known.
