About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Patient Services Specialist II or III in our Plastic Surgery West Clinic in Southwest Portland. This role is phone-based and focuses on providing a consistent, efficient, and easy experience for patients and stakeholders. You will be responsible for checking patients in and out, managing inbound referrals, scheduling appointments, answering multi-line phones, obtaining insurance information, handling cosmetic patient inquiries, and performing administrative tasks to support the clinical team. Cross-training in multiple areas and taking on additional duties like supply management or safety coordination may be expected. Requirements

  • Three (3) years of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
  • Knowledge of insurance requirements, medical terminology, and office procedures.
  • Familiarity with referral processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty care, Plastic Surgery experience is a plus!
  • Prior experience in a clinical role is preferred.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong in-person patient experience support, including checking patients in and out.
  • Manage inbound referrals and schedule patient appointments.
  • Answer and direct calls on a multi-line phone system.
  • Obtain and complete insurance information.
  • Handle incoming cosmetic patient inquiries and ensure timely, appropriate scheduling.
  • Perform additional administrative and support tasks as needed to support the administrative and clinical team.
  • Cross train in multiple areas if applicable, and take on extra duties (i.e., supply management, safety coordinator, etc.).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert.
