About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills to join their team as a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) in McKinney, TX. This entry-level, full-time position involves working in a fast-paced environment and requires flexibility in scheduling, with hours varying between Monday and Friday, 7 am to 7 pm. The role offers a starting salary of $18 - $25 per hour, dependent on experience and internal equity. The PSS Ladder Program is also available for career development.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.
Customer service skills.
Detail-oriented.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
Willingness to travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.

Responsibilities

Check in and check out patients.
Verify insurance and obtain necessary authorizations.
Schedule patient appointments, aiming to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence.
Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete and accurate in the electronic medical record.
Explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies to patients.
Collect patient responsibility payments at each visit.
Scan and maintain medical documents.
Reconcile and post charges daily, and complete other reporting for clean claim processing.
Respond to requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
Maintain office supplies and manage mail.
Adjust schedule to meet center needs.
Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.
