About The Position
The Patient Services Representative is a varied role that adapts to the clinical or clerical staffing needs of the practice. The representative supports physicians and mid-level providers with clinical activities and direct patient care, while also helping patients and staff with the practice’s administrative and clerical needs. The position is onsite at Cayuga Heart and Vascular Center, 40 Catherwood Rd., Suite C, Ithaca, NY 14850.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good time management and prioritization skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Schedule patient appointments.
Nice To Haves
- Previous medical office experience.
- College-level training or education in a healthcare support field.
- Previous EMR use or training.
Responsibilities
- Check in patients upon arrival.
- Verify and update patient demographics.
- Collect outstanding balances and co-pays.
- Schedule patient appointments and assist with additional scheduling for labs, x-rays, procedures, or testing; send orders.
- Take messages and triage phone calls.
- Support physicians and mid-level providers with clinical activities and direct patient care.
- Assist patients and staff with administrative and clerical needs.
