About The Position

The Patient Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by efficiently managing patient appointments and schedules. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in scheduling or administrative roles, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills daily to manage complex appointment calendars and ensure efficient patient flow.
• Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams to coordinate schedules and resolve conflicts.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software enables accurate data entry and retrieval, which supports seamless operations.
• Attention to detail is critical when verifying patient information and insurance details to prevent errors and delays.
• Problem-solving skills help the scheduler address unexpected changes or patient concerns promptly, maintaining a positive experience for all parties involved.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments across multiple healthcare providers and departments.
• Communicate with patients to confirm, reschedule, or cancel appointments while providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain and update patient records and appointment information in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to manage scheduling conflicts and optimize provider availability.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy laws and organizational policies when handling patient information.
• Assist patients with inquiries related to appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and referral requirements.
• Generate and distribute daily appointment schedules and reports to relevant healthcare teams.
• Identify and escalate any scheduling issues or patient concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
