About The Position
The Patient Safety Attendant supports a safe environment for patients who may be mentally or emotionally incapacitated, confused, or at risk of injuring themselves or others. The attendant observes patient activities under the direction of the registered nurse managing the patient’s plan of care. This is a full-time, 12-hour night-shift role in the float pool at Mount Carmel East.
Requirements
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Nice To Haves
- High school graduation is preferred.
- Previous patient care experience is helpful but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Accompany patients to different departments.
- Assist with patients’ personal needs, including feeding, positioning, toileting, and ambulation as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, neat environment for the patient.
- Collaborate with other health care workers regarding the patient’s plan of care and treatment.
