About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the manager or designee, the Patient Registration Clerk (FLOAT) obtains required patient information to complete accurate registrations for patient care, billing, and regulatory requirements. The role documents information in the appropriate areas of the Epic registration system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare registration experience.
• One year of medical office, hospital, or medical insurance-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately obtain and enter information for 50 or more data fields.
• Use predetermined interviewing techniques and scripts to obtain information from patients or their representatives, in person or by phone.
• Provide positive customer service in person, by phone, and by email, including in difficult situations.
• Understand and explain required facility forms, complete them accurately, and obtain and witness patient signatures.
• Carry out payment collection activities, including handling cash.
• Meet or exceed productivity and quality goals.
• Work edits or errors from designated work queues or reports when assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.
