About The Position

This position provides patients with a seamless first interaction and ensures their needs are met with efficiency and care. The right candidate will uphold Grand River’s reputation with a polished and professional approach. The Patient Registrar will oversee responsibilities such as performing registration duties, greeting and checking in patients, managing switchboard and reception activities, answering and transferring phone calls, delivering messages, connecting patients with the right staff or departments, using established emergency phone protocols, announcing pages and alerts through the overhead system when necessary, recording admissions for outpatient and emergency visits by interviewing patients/guarantors and entering data into the EMR, assisting visitors by providing directions and clarifying policies, payment responsibilities, and patient rights, handling general patient inquiries, confirming that required demographic and insurance information is obtained and correctly entered into the medical record, and reviewing coverage and determining the payer source for services provided.

Responsibilities
