Patient Monitor Observer - Full Time
About The Position
The Patient Monitor Observer provides support services, including basic computer keyboarding, assembling and disassembling patient charts as appropriate, notifying other departments about ordered tests and procedures, and stocking supplies. The role monitors and interprets patient heart rhythms and vital signs and follows established algorithm parameters that may trigger alarms. The monitor tech interprets alarms and communicates appropriately. Depending on the location, the role may also provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients and summon nursing staff when a patient needs assistance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer keyboarding skills.

- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret patient heart rhythms and vital signs.
- Follow established algorithm parameters and interpret alarming events.
- Communicate alarm information and other relevant observations appropriately.
- Depending on location, provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients.
- Summon nursing staff when a patient requires assistance.
