About The Position

The Patient Flow Coordinator is responsible for the daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Transportation services in a hospital environment. The role dispatches transport requests, manages requests accurately and promptly, and assigns transport personnel efficiently using software applications. The coordinator promotes positive experiences for patients, requestors, and transporters by providing excellent customer service in person or by phone. When resources are available, the coordinator may assist with patient transports during high-volume periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of patient transport or related hospital experience.
• Organizational skills to plan, organize, coordinate, and direct transport requests and staff productivity.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to troubleshoot computer or software system problems and initiate internal or external resolution.
• Analytical ability to evaluate task and personnel status and interpret demand and response times in relation to patient acuity and personnel availability.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving ability related to response times and staff coordination, including enforcement of policies during emergency or stressful situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with, motivate, and communicate professionally with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel.
• Strong, genuine, and noticeable guest-relations skills.
• Flexible work schedule.
