Join us and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of women’s health. UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Patient & Family Concierge, Senior to support the Emergency Department! The Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art, 22-bed Level 3 Trauma unit that opened to the public in 2014. The ED handles critically ill patients and other emergency medical issues, including OB/GYN, geriatric, and medical-surgical including bariatric, orthopedic, oncology, and stroke patients. The majority of ED nurses at Magee are trained to perform forensic exams for sexual assault as well. Patient volume and acuity are variable and can change quickly, making the ED an extremely fast-paced, unpredictable environment where rapid problem-solving is necessary to address evolving needs and priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent OR current high school/GED enrollment OR one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS diploma/GED.
  • 6 months of experience as a Patient & Family Concierge or equivalent required
  • Act 34 with renewal

Responsibilities

  • Providing generalized, compassionate service and support to staff members, patients, families, and visitors during their stay within the hospital.
  • Assisting with all communications regarding the department.
  • Accurately updating and maintaining patient flow process.
  • Coordinating patient tests and procedures.
  • Assembling and serving meals according to diet orders, menus, and patient or guest specific requirements.
  • Cleaning, removing trash from, emptying linen hampers, and organizing all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices, and patient-specific equipment.
  • Replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Ordering unit specific supplies and equipment.
  • Delivering supplies, equipment, medication and other materials to the patient units.
  • Maintaining par levels for designated supplies and forms including down time folders.
  • Maintaining accurate unit communication including, but not limited to, promptly answering telephones, activating the paging system, facilitating timely faxing, distributing patient and unit mail, greeting and assisting visitors, physicians, and other staff members.
