About The Position

NS Pharma is a highly focused, research-driven biopharmaceutical company working in rare diseases. We're exploring the potential of cutting-edge science as a subsidiary of Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. In Japan. The Rare Disease Patient Engagement Lead (PEL) is a key field-based member of the Patient Access team, reporting to the National Director of Patient Engagement Lead. This role is responsible for providing guidance to patients and caregivers on the steps required to gain access to therapy and serving as the primary regional resource for patient advocacy activities. Qualified candidates must be bilingual English / Spanish. The territory for this role is SC, NC, MS, AL, GA, FL & PR. Qualified candidates must live in the territory.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of local, regional, and national insurance authorization policies and barriers.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical rules, regulations, and compliance.
  • Market access awareness of the process for an out-of-state Medicaid patient journey.
  • BS, BA required.
  • Bilingual - Spanish/English is REQUIRED.
  • At least 5+ years in a Specialty Pharmaceutical field-based role.
  • At least 3+ years in a role centered on the marketing of services to help rare disease patients gain access to and/or use a specialty branded drug.
  • Proven understanding of pharmacy and medical benefit designs, prior authorization processes, and specialty pharmacy treatment pathways.
  • Proven ability to build, maintain and influence effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have a valid driver license.

Nice To Haves

  • Rare disease experience preferred; Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and/or Hunter Syndrome
  • Bilingual capability is preferred.
  • Experience working within CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar).
  • Rare disease experience highly preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel, some weekend travel.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary patient-facing liaison for insurance navigation, access support, issue resolution, and patient education.
  • Work as the primary point of contact for patients and caregivers through the NS Support patient journey.
  • Deliver NS Pharma Patient Services programs that educate patient and caregivers on the total offerings that support the patient treatment journey and appropriately access patient assistance programs.
  • Work collaboratively with all appropriate field roles (Key Account Managers, Area Business Managers, Directors of Patient Access) and coordinate with the NS Support Case Managers.
  • Act in accordance with NS Pharma Employee Handbook and all applicable laws and regulations for the pharmaceutical industry.
