Oak Grove Recovery operates Residential Treatment Programs for individuals with Substance Use Disorder. The Lead Patient Engagement Specialist plays a key leadership role in supporting both staff and patients throughout the recovery process. This position oversees the Patient Engagement team, ensuring consistent structure, accountability, and therapeutic engagement within the facility. The Lead Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all Patient Engagement Specialists, supervises daily operations, monitors patient movement, resolves conflicts, and collaborates closely with clinical staff to maintain a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with Substance Use Disorder populations strongly preferred
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-risk or crisis situations
  • Strong de-escalation, harm-prevention, and conflict-management skills
  • Crisis Intervention Training strongly preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Physical ability to run and safely intervene in tense situations
  • Commitment to a drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
  • Personal passion or interest in substance abuse recovery strongly preferred
  • Authorization to work in the United States required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all Patient Engagement Specialists and provide ongoing support and direction
  • Train and onboard new Patient Engagement Specialists
  • Create, manage, and adjust daily work schedules
  • Monitor productivity and ensure adequate staffing coverage
  • Host monthly staff meetings and communicate updates, expectations, and policy changes
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance guidance
  • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to engagement protocols
  • Oversee meal monitoring, including portion control and accommodations
  • Ensure staff lead daily light fitness classes, guided meditation, and enrichment activities
  • Oversee staff participation in off-campus enrichment activities and vendor-led events
  • Ensure facilitation of assigned non-therapy groups
  • Monitor patient movement and maintain visibility in all patient areas
  • Lead community meetings to address treatment topics and resolve conflicts
  • Ensure implementation of one-on-one engagement and retention strategies
  • Oversee transportation scheduling for patients
  • Ensure staff supervision of off-campus 12-step meetings
  • Monitor patient compliance and collaborate with clinical staff as needed
  • Oversee daily facility cleaning duties and ensure standards are met
  • Respond calmly and effectively to high-stress or crisis situations
  • Support a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment
  • Work independently while contributing to a collaborative treatment team
  • Commit to ongoing learning, development, and teamwork
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
