Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • Up to date on all vaccinations
  • Pass a drug test
  • Pass a background check prior to hire
  • Confident multi-tasker
  • Quick study with technology
  • Ability to type and answer phones
  • Comfortable working across multiple programs and typing quickly
  • Comfortable working around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care

Responsibilities

  • Help patients check into the hospital
  • Collect patient information accurately and quickly
  • Answer patient questions during the registration process
  • Listen with compassion to address patient fears, concerns, and questions
  • Operate computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment
  • Input patient and insurance details correctly across multiple screens, coordinating with physician and nurse check-ins
  • Ask follow-up questions and build rapport with patients in real time
  • Assist patients in completing their registration, navigating variations in health plans and coverage
  • Work quickly and be prepared for unexpected situations
  • Be prepared to see illness and injuries in a hospital/lab environment
