About The Position

Peterson Health is seeking full-time Patient Care Technicians in Kerrville, Texas. The role is available on day or night shifts, with three 12-hour shifts per week: 7 a.m.–7 p.m. for days or 7 p.m.–7 a.m. for nights. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Technician provides basic and advanced nursing care to an assigned group of patients, based on competence and experience. The PCT supports patients’ emotional and physical needs and is an essential member of the care team. Requirements

Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
Ability to follow instructions.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to care for the ages of patients served on the assigned unit.
BLS certification.
Nurses Aid certification, completion of one year of formal RN coursework, or one year of in-hospital PCT experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Previous patient care experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

Provide basic and advanced nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Perform basic PCT duties, including routine personal care, changing linens, taking vital signs, transporting patients, and assisting with ambulation.
Support patients’ emotional and physical needs.
Promote teamwork and serve as a positive role model.
