About The Position

Peterson Health is hiring full-time Patient Care Technicians for day or night shifts in Kerrville, Texas. Each schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts: 7 a.m.–7 p.m. for days or 7 p.m.–7 a.m. for nights. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the PCT provides basic and advanced nursing care to an assigned group of patients according to their competence and experience. The role supports patients’ emotional and physical needs and contributes to the care team through customer service, multitasking, positive role modeling, and teamwork. Requirements

Ability to read, write, perform simple math, and follow instructions.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to care for patients in the age groups served on the assigned unit.
BLS certification.
Nurse aide certification, completion of one year of formal RN coursework (such as one year of an ADN program or the junior year of a BSN program), or one year of in-hospital PCT experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Previous patient care experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

Provide basic and advanced nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, based on competence and experience.
Perform basic patient care duties, including personal care, changing linens, taking vital signs, transporting patients, and assisting with ambulation.
Support patients’ emotional and physical needs.
Promote teamwork and serve as a positive role model.
Demonstrate customer service skills and the ability to multitask.
