About The Position

Peterson Health is seeking Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to provide basic and advanced nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, based on the employee’s competence and experience. The PCT supports patients’ emotional and physical needs and is an essential member of the care team. The role includes basic patient care duties such as personal care, changing linens, taking vital signs, transporting patients, and assisting with ambulation. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent customer service, can multitask, serves as a positive role model, and promotes teamwork. The position is full-time, with three 12-hour shifts. Day shifts are 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; night shifts are 7 p.m.–7 a.m. Peterson Health is an independent, not-for-profit healthcare organization in Kerrville, Texas. Requirements

Ability to read, write, perform simple math, and follow instructions.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the age group of patients served on the assigned unit.
BLS certification.
Nurses Aid certification, completion of one year of formal RN coursework, or one year of in-hospital PCT experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Previous patient care experience in a hospital or long-term care setting.
