Patient Care Technician (PCT) Med-Surg Telemetry
About The Position
Highpoint Health Sumner is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care on its Med-Surg Telemetry unit. The role supports the facility’s mission of making communities healthier by helping patients with daily activities, observing and documenting their condition, and assisting with clinical procedures. The position is PRN on days. Highpoint Health Sumner is a 167-bed healthcare facility serving Middle Tennessee. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with an exception noted for candidates with a State of Tennessee CNA license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- State of Tennessee CNA license preferred.
- One year of certified nurse technician or EMT experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Provide or assist with providing direct patient care.
- Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
- Report changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggest modifications to treatment plans.
- Assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.
- Perform IV starts and urinary Foley catheter insertions.
