Patient Care Technician (PCT) Med-Surg Telemetry
About The Position
Highpoint Health Sumner is seeking a Patient Care Technician for its Med-Surg Telemetry team. The position is PRN and scheduled for days. The technician provides direct patient care and helps patients with activities of daily living, while observing and documenting patient behavior and activities. The role also includes reporting changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional conditions to nursing staff and suggesting treatment-plan modifications. Technicians assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed, and perform IV starts and urinary Foley catheter insertions. Highpoint Health Sumner is a 167-bed healthcare facility serving Middle Tennessee. The organization has more than 1,000 employees and 300 physicians and has provided healthcare in the community since 1959.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- State of Tennessee CNA license preferred; candidates may be considered without a high school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of certified nurse technician or EMT experience preferred.
