Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Family Birthing Center
About The Position
Under the supervision of a Nurse Leader, the Patient Care Technician performs specific duties that support patient care, including direct and indirect care activities essential to maintaining a safe and efficient care environment. The role carries out selected interventions and activities that contribute to comprehensive patient care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Working alongside the care team, the technician helps ensure a positive patient experience. The position operates in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Patient Care Technician-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
- Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Provider credential within 2 months (60 days) of hire or job transfer.
- No experience is required; training is provided on-site.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Some relevant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Certified BLS Provider credential.
- Certification as a CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA for eligibility to advance in the PCT clinical ladder.
