About The Position
The Family Birthing Center Nurse delivers compassionate, high-quality maternal and newborn care, supporting the safety and well-being of the mother and newborn throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages. The nurse provides individualized, comprehensive care, performs critical assessments and skilled procedures, and works with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. The role calls for strong assessment skills, acute critical thinking, a patient-first mindset, urgency, and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment. Requirements
- One year of acute care nursing experience.
- Associate degree in nursing or foreign equivalent.
- Arizona Registered Nurse license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification within six months.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Labor/Delivery, Level II Nursery/NICU, or Couplet Care.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree or foreign equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing, systematic data collection focused on the physiologic, psychosocial, and cultural status of the maternal-newborn couplet, including pain management and patient advocacy.
- Formulate prioritized plans of care based on nursing diagnoses and desired patient outcomes for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages.
- Provide thorough and consistent care, including fetal monitoring, assistance with high-risk deliveries, and neonatal stabilization.
