About The Position
The Registered Nurse works in the Family Birthing Center (LDRP) at Backus Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare. The role demonstrates clinical competence through the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. The nurse assesses and identifies patient problems and needs, establishes a plan of care, and implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- One year of RN experience and/or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
- Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within 90 days of hire.
- Complete a basic fetal monitoring class by the end of orientation.
- Obtain Electronic Fetal Monitoring National certification (NCC) within two years of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or MSN.
- Two or more years of experience in this specific clinical area.
- Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC or RN-BC).
