Patient Care Technician / PCT ICU

About The Position
The Cross Trained Assistant performs clerical and CNA duties related to the ICU under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) or LPN and the unit manager. The role also supports patient intake and transport, routine patient care, supply management, and organization of the nursing station.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience as a nurse aide.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience as a Unit Secretary or Administrative Assistant.
- Oklahoma Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician.
Responsibilities
- Act as the unit’s receptionist.
- Assign patients to rooms on the board, alert nursing staff when patients arrive, and pull and prepare charts.
- Receive patients at the desk, escort them to the appropriate room, and provide initial instructions.
- Obtain vital signs and assist with transporting discharged patients.
- Answer inquiries within the scope of practice.
- Order and monitor the utilization of selected office supplies, nutritional supplements, forms, and retrieval chart backs.
- Assist with stocking supplies needed in the unit.
- Help keep nursing stations clean and organized.
- Perform clerical and CNA duties related to the ICU under the direction of an RN or LPN and the unit manager.
