Patient Care Tech (PCT) - ICU
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and changing bed linens. The role may also involve serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The position follows instructions and established guidelines, works under immediate supervision, and typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR certification.
- CNA license, Home Health, Nursing Assistant, ENT, or nursing student who has completed the first round of clinicals.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing service personnel with patient care activities and services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene.
- Take patients’ vital signs.
- Change bed linens.
- May serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment.
- May clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
