Patient Care Tech (PCT) - ICU
About The Position
The Patient Care Tech assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and changing bed linens. The position may also involve serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The role uses commonly applied concepts, practices, and procedures in the field and follows instructions and established guidelines under immediate supervision. It typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. A sign-on bonus of up to $2,500 is available based on eligibility.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR certification.
- One of the following: CNA license, Home Health, Nursing Assistant, ENT, or Nursing Student who has completed the first round of clinicals.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services necessary to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene.
- Take vital signs.
- Change bed linens.
- May serve and collect food trays and provide between-meal nourishment.
- May clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
