About The Position

The Patient Care Technician, under the direction of professional staff, assists with patient care to support patients, the nursing unit, and professional staff. The role is with Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a 595-bed acute care teaching and referral hospital and the flagship hospital of Methodist Health System. The hospital describes itself as a diverse and inclusive workplace and highlights its Magnet designation, Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and transplant programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility, or one of the following: graduation from a certified nursing assistant program; completion of the first semester of a nursing program; documented military experience as a medic or corpsman; foreign nursing graduate not currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the United States; or EMT certification/paramedic license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
