About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides routine, high-quality patient care in the outpatient wound care clinic in accordance with Bradley Medical Center policies and procedures. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or licensed nursing staff, the PCT delivers care based on patients’ developmental and age-specific needs. This is a PRN role with potential future opportunity for a full-time position.

The PCT supports clinic operations through patient care, room preparation and stocking, vital signs, assistance during procedures, clerical support, patient-record maintenance, and communication and coordination within the unit and across departments. The role calls for flexibility, cooperation, professionalism, participation in performance improvement initiatives, and support of a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in an acute care setting, or current enrollment in a nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Stock rooms, room patients, and prepare patients and rooms to receive care.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Support providers and nursing staff during procedures as needed.
• Interact professionally and demonstrate flexibility and cooperation with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel.
• Provide clerical support within the clinic.
• Maintain and update patient records as appropriate.
• Promote effective communication and coordination within the unit and across departments.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and help promote a collaborative work environment.
• Provide care in accordance with Bradley Medical Center policies and procedures and patients’ developmental and age-specific needs.
