Patient Care Technicians, Full Time and Part Time Nights
About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to join their Pre-Anesthesia Services team. PCTs play a crucial role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care under the supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include assisting with direct patient care such as hygiene and mobility, monitoring vital signs, performing clinical tasks like phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing. The role also involves assisting with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, supporting emergency response protocols, and restocking the department. Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.
Requirements
- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required (all levels).
- Level II: at least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.).
- Level III: Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.) OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health.
- Level IV: 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health.
- Non-Graduate Education (Required).
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Certification.
- Certified Nurse Aide - Other Certification.
Nice To Haves
- PCT training or CNA training, preferred (Level I).
Responsibilities
