About The Position

The Patient Care Technician may function in a patient care assistant and/or unit secretary role at any given time. The position supports nursing staff and patient care under the direction and guidance of licensed staff and leaders. It also coordinates clerical activities for the unit and staff in coordination with patients, hospital departments, physicians, and other customers. The unit secretary serves as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit. The schedule is listed as full-time PRN.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a clerical or medical terminology course.
• Completion certificate from a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.) course.
• Currently enrolled in an RN degree program and completion of a fundamentals of nursing curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff and patient care under the direction and guidance of licensed staff and leaders.
• Perform patient care assistant and/or unit secretary duties as needed.
• Coordinate clerical activities for the unit and staff with patients, hospital departments, physicians, and other customers.
• Serve as the focal point of communication on the nursing unit.
