About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital member of the collaborative nursing team and supports Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients. The PCT assists with daily patient needs, helps RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans, and contributes to patient comfort, dignity, and recovery. The position is with HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, a 323-bed facility in Ocala, Florida, and is identified as PRN.

Requirements

• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• No prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Support Registered Nurses with monitoring patient conditions and carrying out care plans.
