Patient Care Technician (PCT) Inpatient
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a caregiver during the scheduled work period, providing patient-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role supports a warm, welcoming environment that fosters healing and positivity. The unit provides opportunities to gain medical and mental health experience, refine patient-care skills, and contribute to a team. Specialized onboarding and on-the-job training are available, along with educational assistance for career advancement.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- For non-CNAs working in North Dakota, be listed on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry after completing training and competency validation, or within four months of initial employment.
- For work in Wisconsin, be listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility, or be a student nurse enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment or supplies.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Experience in nursing assistance or patient care; applicants of all experience levels are invited.
