About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as a caregiver during the scheduled work period, providing patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The role involves supporting patients’ safety and well-being, observing and reporting changes in their condition, and helping create a warm, welcoming environment that fosters healing. The unit offers experience in both medical and mental health care. Specialized onboarding and on-the-job training are available, along with educational assistance for career advancement.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment or supplies preferred.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
In North Dakota, if not a CNA, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training and competency validation, or within four months of initial employment.
In Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility, or be a student nurse enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing who has completed a basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.

Nice To Haves
