Patient Care Technician (PCT)- Inpatient
About The Position
Baystate Health is hiring Patient Care Technicians across multiple inpatient departments at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. These roles support patients and nursing teams by providing compassionate hands-on care, monitoring and documenting patient information, and helping maintain patient safety. Opportunities are available for current and upcoming openings, with schedules and departments discussed during recruitment. The listed shift is days, primarily 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, and schedules vary by position. Employees are required to work every other weekend. Positions may be full-time, part-time, or per diem.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of patient care experience, including long-term care, specialty care, or acute care.
- PCT training or CNA training.
- Certified Nurse Aide certification is listed in the job posting.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, mobility, hygiene, and comfort.
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake and output, and changes in patient condition.
- Assist with patient safety, treatments, procedures, and specimen collection.
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care.
