About The Position
Baystate Health is hiring Patient Care Technicians for multiple inpatient departments at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Massachusetts. These roles support nursing teams by providing compassionate, hands-on care and helping patients with daily needs. Opportunities are available for current and upcoming openings, with schedules and departments discussed during recruitment. Positions are offered as full-time, part-time, or per diem, primarily on night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Hours vary by position, and the schedule requires working every other weekend. Compensation is listed at $17.01–$22.81 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant experience and position, and eligible roles may include shift differentials. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of patient care experience, including long-term care, specialty care, or acute care.
- Patient Care Technician training or Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training.
- Certified Nurse Aide certification is listed among the certifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, mobility, hygiene, and comfort.
- Monitor and document vital signs, intake and output, and changes in patient condition.
- Assist with patient safety, treatments, procedures, and specimen collection.
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality care.
