Dialysis Patient Care Technician-PCT
About The Position
Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) is recruiting a motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support its nonprofit mission of providing individualized care to patients with chronic kidney disease. The PCT cares for patients with end-stage renal disease and supports clinical staff throughout dialysis treatments, helping deliver prescribed care as part of an interdisciplinary team. The role is performed under RN supervision in a comfortable clinical setting, with a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio than other providers. This is a full-time position with three 12-hour shifts per week, Sundays off, and no overnight shifts. Pay ranges from $20 to $27 per hour, depending on healthcare experience; previous experience is not required. DCI provides a paid 12-week training program that includes classroom sessions and one-on-one skills training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Ability to problem solve.
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, and/or phlebotomy skills are desired.
- Dialysis experience is not required; job shadow opportunities are available.
Responsibilities
- Participate in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities.
- Guide new patients through a 120-day education plan.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and dialysis machine readings during treatment.
- Work under RN supervision.
- Set up and break down the dialysis blood system for treatment.
- Insert and remove patient access needles.
- Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and report concerns to the charge nurse.
- Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight.
- Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
- Maintain professional working relationships while respecting patient privacy and rights.
- Maintain and track inventory.
- Perform laboratory work.
