About The Position

The Patient Care Technician I assists doctors and nursing staff in ensuring that patients’ basic needs are met. The role includes supporting activities of daily living, monitoring and recording patient measurements, assisting with mobility, and performing clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring. This is a full-time overnight position in the Emergency Department at Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center, scheduled 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights.
Assist patients with mobility, including ambulation, transfers, discharges, and range-of-motion activities.
Perform post-mortem care.
Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring.
Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions to the RN.
Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
