About The Position

The Patient Care Technician 1 supports patient care under the supervision of a Nurse Leader. The role includes direct and indirect patient care activities that help maintain a safe and efficient care environment, as well as selected interventions and activities that contribute to comprehensive patient care in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Working with the care team, the technician also helps ensure a positive patient experience. This position works in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities and requires flexibility in scheduling. Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held. Training is provided on site.

Requirements

No experience is required; training is provided on site.
Successfully complete PCT-specific Hartford HealthCare orientation.
Obtain an American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed BLS Provider certification within 2 months (60 days) of hire or job transfer.
Be flexible in scheduling and able to work in a high-activity environment with multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Some relevant experience in an acute-care hospital environment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA)-credentialed BLS Provider certification.
CNA, CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA certification for eligibility to advance in the PCT clinical ladder.
