Patient Care Tech / PCT Float Pool
About The Position
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Float Pool role performs patient care and clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse and unit manager. The PCT assists with patient care, including obtaining vital signs, transporting patients, delivering meal trays and hygiene care, and answering inquiries within the scope of practice. The role also supports nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, escorting them to the appropriate room, and providing initial instructions. Additional duties may include transporting discharged patients and serving as the unit receptionist. Reception and clerical tasks include assigning patients to rooms on the board, alerting nursing staff when patients arrive, pulling and preparing charts, ordering and monitoring selected supplies, retrieving charts, and helping stock supplies. The PCT also helps keep nursing stations clean and organized.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
- Oklahoma Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician licensure.

- One year of experience preferred.
Responsibilities
