About The Position
The Float Pool Patient Care Technician (PCT) works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under nursing supervision. The role supports patients with daily activities and monitors and reports patient status. This is a full-time, day-shift position in Amarillo, Texas.
Requirements
- Must have completed some high school education.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
- Completion of High School PCT competencies.
- Certification as a PCT (Certified Care Technician) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care under nursing supervision.
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other activities of daily living.
- Observe patients’ progress and prepare and disseminate reports to the Nurse.
- Obtain and record patients’ vital signs.
- Collect specimens for laboratory tests.
