About The Position

The Patient Care Tech I assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services needed to care for patients’ personal needs and comfort. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, and changing bed linens. The role may also involve serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If certified through the American Red Cross, obtain American Heart Association certification within 60 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Acute care and/or previous clinical experience.
• Basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties.
• Prior HUC training or experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to use computer-driven patient care equipment.
