About The Position

The Patient Care Tech I assists nursing service personnel with patient care activities and related services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. The role includes assisting with personal hygiene, taking vital signs, changing bed linens, and potentially serving and collecting food trays, providing between-meal nourishment, and cleaning, sterilizing, storing, and preparing supplies. The position requires knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.

This is a full-time, day-shift position at The Hospitals of Providence - Sierra Campus. The employer describes the role as patient care support focused on providing compassionate assistance and comfort to patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If certified through the American Red Cross, obtain American Heart Association certification within 60 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Ability to use computer-driven patient care equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Acute care and/or previous clinical experience.
• Basic experience performing clerical or customer service duties.
• Prior HUC training or experience in a clinical setting.
